| | Autumn colours Seems to be the best Autumn colours that I can remember this year. Perhapes the wet summer has kept the leaves on the trees, followed by lack of storms in the autumn. Westonbirt (Gloucestershire) was stunning on Saturday. Perfect conditions, bit of sun, no wind, heavy dew on the leaves.
I was going to post a pic, but can't upload at present
So you're just have to go and have a look for your selves . Don't leave it too long or the wind will have it.
The natural woodlands around the Cotswolds are looking good at the moment too. |

I just missed the sun on some of them, I intend going back as soon as the sun shows itself again. |

| | | Re: Autumn colours I don't know about the best but up here in central Scotland it must be one of the longest lasting, I think it's probably because we have had little or no frost so far. |

| | | Re: Autumn colours The trees in North Kent are ablaze with colour. Truly stunning. I parked my car under a tree in town yesterday and when I came back, it looked like someone had emptied a packet of cornflakes over it. It was all golden and crispy. It was a shame to move it.

Doug | It is pretty colourful round here at the moment. It does seem more so than last year but then maybe I am just noticing it more than then. Here's a pic I took 5 miles west of Reading last week. It looks even better now but haven't got round to taking a pic yet.

Paul | Cheers for that, I was thinking of somewhere to go on Saturday so it may be there now!
The photo I put on this thread of the autumn colours was taken at BBOWT's other reserve near here, Moor Copse.

| | Re: Autumn colours Spent the day in the New Forest yesterday - FANTASTIC!
Not only the trees but vast amount of fungi that was to be seen. The bonus being the Fallow buck that came wandering out of a clearing while I was quietly eating my lunch.
Well worth a visit within the next ten days
