Maybe if we had a photo? 
Two which are flowering at the moment are one of the Corydalis spp; but there's also a good crop of Meconopsis cambrica, Welsh poppy.

I still have several welsh poppies in flower, mainly at the front of the house in stone crevices. Possibly these as Paul suggested.

It shouldn't be to hard to identify the Welsh poppy. It could be yellow toad flax or Yellow Corydalis?

Without a description it's a case of guessing in the dark. It could be one of suggestions above, but another group of plants that snugly fit between paving + on drives would be a couple of the non-native wood-sorrels such as Oxalis corniculata + O. exilis which are both yellow flowered. |
