| | | More identifications - please! I hope you don't think I am a pain, but this week I have been going round my garden seeking out all the latest spring flowers. I have found some amazing things that I have never noticed before - some almost need a magnifying glass to see them.
As you may have noticed (from some other posts) I have been a bit unsure about some of the ID's. Today is no exception. I have found a whole lot more, some of which I recognise and I will be uploading a few more images to the Gallery when I get a minute.
I don't have a clue about the following and hope that someone will be able to help. These were all found today in my garden in deciduous woodland. The blue/purple one I suspect is a garden flower which has found it's way here. We certainly did not plant it and there was only one flower which unfortunately is a bit bedraggled. The yellow/green one may be some kind of spurge, but I don't know which. There was lots of it found in the grass beneath the trees. The grassy one has strange leaves with long hairs all over it. It was also found in the grass beneath the trees.
I would really appreciate some help with these.
Many thanks,
Jenny |

| | | Re: More identifications - please! Great. Many thanks. I have never even heard of the last two.
Interesting - the Field Woodrush is also called Good Friday grass. Considering that the date of Easter changes each year, it is quite a coincidence that I found it this weekend.

Matt | If the sun keeps shining I will try to get a better close-up today for the Gallery.

| | | Re: More identifications - please! Just a quick tip jennyb-with flowers photos for identification try and get some leaves and stem in to give an idea of the whole plant-sometimes two species of plant could have virtually the same flower but differences elsewhere will give you an identification. |

| | | Re: More identifications - please! and field woodrush can be an indicator of ancient unimproved grassland. Whenever I come across it, I start thinking about how I may need to get a botanist in to have a closer look. keep posting as more comes up! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
