| | | Another self seeded plant for ID. I spotted this today whist planting some spring bulbs. It's past its best , with just the one berry, but it looks like there had been another nine. There are no leaves at all, the stalk is 19cm tall and the berry is 1cm in diameter - any ideas what it is please. |

I have a garden with many patches of them, due to seeding. Which is weird because they were one of my mother's favourites and my father couldn't get the things to grow at all! All of ours are derived from one small clump! So it is a good "spreader" but pretty easy to pull out in unwanted areas.
I believe the fruits are poisonous? |

I actually planted a few Lily- of -the- valley plants three maybe four years ago and they never grew. This May, I was surprised when there was a single stem with nine flowers ( I just checked the number on a photo) - so it all makes perfect sense now. I didn't realise they were poisoness though. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
