Re: A Few I Have Tried & Failed To I.D.

Hi Jacob - heres some possible ids for your plants....

1. Possibly Betony, Stachys officionalis

2. Goldenrod, Solidago virgaurea

3. I found a brassica with very grey-green leaves (http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/ga.../q-0709-81.jpg)
that was identified as possibly Hoary Mustard, hirschfeldia incana.....

4.

5. Common Knapweed, sometimes known as Hardheads, centurea nigra

Re: A Few I Have Tried & Failed To I.D.

Hi Jacob,

1. I think is Betony, but I stand to be corrected.
2 Looks like Canadian Goldenrod
3 Is a type of crucifer
4 Is a type of Hawkweed
4 Black Knapweed Centaurea nigra

Cheers,

Adam

On second look I agree with Adam on the Goldenrod - Canadian Goldenrod, solidago canadensis

Re: A Few I Have Tried & Failed To I.D.

1. Betony (Stachys officinalis)
2. Early Goldenrod (Solidago gigantea)
3. Could be Rape (Brassica napus)?
4. Could be a species of Hawkbit (Leontodon)?
5. Common/Black Knapweed (Centaurea nigra)

Both have an extensive flowering time, but May would be a peak time for both species.

Without leaves, etc difficult to be sure, but I suspect it could be an aberrant hawkbit, Leontodon sp., that has already been suggested.
