| | | Another mullein - maybe garden cultivar? I seem to be in Mullein-mode at the moment!
This one seeds itself all over a friends vegetable patch.....the woman who used to live there was well into her herbaceous perennials and I'm wondering if this is a surviving verbascum cultivar......?
First thought was Dark Mullein (V.nigrum) but the anthers are the wrong colour.... |

| | | Re: Another mullein - maybe garden cultivar? Sorry, should have said filaments.....they are yellow on this plant, and should (according to the books) be purple for Dark Mullein..... |

| | | Re: Another mullein - maybe garden cultivar? I think it might be Orange Mullein, Verbascum phlomoides. This is naturalised in places around London. |

| | | Re: Another mullein - maybe garden cultivar? I would agree that it is Orange Mullein.
Dark Mullein has much smaller flowers and is a shorter plant. |
