I was very surprised to find this Melilot just down the road today - could be another one for the recorder? But I'm stumped on which one   |

The flower dimensions (wings much shorter than keel) would suggest Furrowed Melilot (Melilotus sulcatus) a Mediterranean species which occasionally occurs in the UK, usually from bird-seed.
However, I am not at all familiar with this species and would not like to be definite about the ID. |

Thanks Tiggrx - wish I could find simple straightforward-to-id plants!
Do you know where I might be able to get a definite id as I'm very intrigued as to how a Mediterranean bird-seed plant could show up in a fairly remote West Cork field? And its got to be be a first for recording round here whatever it is .......! | | |
