That's a cracking shot of the Sainfoin Jacob Not seen one myself before, they're quite lupin like aren't they.

Not uncommon in the south- it's sometimes grown as a fodder crop. Usually on chalk.

Good place to see Sainfoin is Bluewater near Dartford. In the summer, it is spectacular, though I suspect it has been part of a seeding programme after the development of the shopping centre.

I don't know about your part of the country, but Ivinghoe Beacon (Bucks) and Totternhoe Knolls (Beds) are good places for seeing Sainfoin. Both are chalk habitats.
