Bladder campion was my first that i could safely I.D. and the first i learnt a VN name for ( Fairy Potatoes) so that one is special to me....but its not exactly colourful.
Or i could choose something rare like a ghost orchid or fly orchid?...
Hmmm...But to be honest ...a small island covered in deep red field or common poppies would be heaven. and they keep flowering for a long time. |

| | | Re: Which Wild Flower? Would have to be Ramsons (Allium ursinum) for me, a wood bursting with them in spring is a sight (and smell) I would hate to live without. And of course the Bluebell (Hyacinthoides non-scripta)would be right up there on my list too. |

I think they're a very attractive plant - a very pretty pink flower, with interestingly shaped leaves that can be red-tinged or even entirely red. It's just as well I like them, as they are possibly the flower I see most often when I go walking! I always look out for them, and am disappointed when I don't see them.
Another, more practical, reason for choosing them is that they flower for a longer period than most plants, from April to November. |

If we're talking about 'Desert Islands Flowers', shouldn't we be able to choose eight species, our favourite flower book and a luxury flower-related item?
