| | | Plant id please (possibly a heather) Can anyone id this plant for me?
I am told its a heather thats not that common and is occasionally found in the Cornwall area?
Only this was a single plant found in a chalk quarrry in the south east of England?

| | | Re: Plant id please (possibly a heather) Looks like Cornish Heath (Erica vagans). In the UK it is only native in West Cornwall, but occasionally persists as a garden escape/throwout elsewhere. |

But tell me how can it appear at a "closed to the public" nature reserve, miles away from any gardens and in the middle of a large chalk pit in north Kent?
Could it be by seed by a passing bird?..
I am lost when it comes to plantlife!!!
