| | | Summer is over .... autumn is here Is it really August? .... it has seemed like October or November this week.
Apart from the fact that I woke up to thick fog here in Essex this morning, autumn wild fruits have become very abundant over the last few weeks.
I noticed a lot of blackberries and elderberries at Wat Tyler Country Park in Pitsea last weekend, some being eagerly eaten by juvenile Blackbirds.
It appears that this early growth of autumn wild fruits has been seen in many areas .... Nature’s not been fazed by dull weather
Anyone else noticed this?

| | | Re: Summer is over .... autumn is here Yes it's been depressingly dismal this past week, but earlier this morning walking through the park to do my shopping there was a light mist over the grass + all the plants were covered in dew- a stunning morning + at last a beautiful day to come!
Shall be out soon to watch some wildlife + hopefully plenty of insects. |

| | | Re: Summer is over .... autumn is here Oddly, it's been very pleasant up here in SY for a couple of days - the first chance I've had to do something with a seriously overgrown garden!
Good to have an advert for the Phenology Forum - I hope people will get involved with it, recording some serious data on seasonal events. |

| | | Re: Summer is over .... autumn is here Well its been fantastic here in the Midlands, wall to wall sunshine all day yesterday and its the same today.
I would have loved to have got out with the camera today but unfortunately I have tickets to go and watch Leicester city v Watford at the Walkers Stadium, not much chance of any insects there I guess |

Enjoy the game .... I think the sun is supposed to last over the weekend so plenty more time for wildlife and photography.
