| | | Acorns...acorns...acorns...oh, and more acorns.. Is it my imagination or is the acorn crop this year way bigger than usual? We've just come back from a very wet drive round our highways and byways and all commented on the fact that the oak trees around here are laden with acorns this year. I certainly don't remember seeing this sort of number before. There are going to be some very portly squirrels and jays rolling around this Autumn.
I guess this is due to the warm dry spell we had when the oak was flowering allowing for optimum pollination. |
