| | | introducing new member I've just joined and think it would be a good idea to have a "thread?" to give a few details for those new to the forum who have an interest in flowers/plants etc.
I'm 60 (just got bus pass) an live in Tyne & Wear. I've got a digital camera and have recently started taking pics of local wild flowers to appreciate them at leisure and to start to accurately indentify them - it looks as though this forum will assist and provide opportunity for sharing and learning.
If anyone has any initial advice or comment I would be pleased to hear from you.
I've an interest (via pics) in butterflies/moths/fungii/birds - realy anything of beauty that nature has on offer! |

I came to WAB for a couple of ID's and have been here since, so any little posers you have , you know where to post them as some one is bound to be able to help |

| | | Re: introducing new member Thanks for all the messages. The forum sounds great. I'll have to find out how to post pics or links if I need ID help (which I will!). Any advice?
I'd also like to put a pic next to my name - how's that done? Maybe I'll have to wait 'til I've made a few more posts.
i'm going to open a thread on Orange Hawkweed if you want to have a look. |

| | | Re: introducing new member Welcome and can I support what Goosey said. Only last week I decided to leave the camera in the car as a few friends and I went for a stroll on a beach near Newcastle in Ireland.
Apart from the fact that the beach turned out to be a perfect shingle flora beach, we were suddenly treated to the sight of a seal with a metre long dogfish in its mouth which it had just caught. It kept coming up an posing for the non existent camera. Then to add insult to injury a harbour porpoise started diving through the waves right next to the shore.
Always take the camera.
