| | Unknown Orchid Hi All,
Out walking in Newborough Forest on Angelsey, North Wales I came across this Orchid. Now I'm no expert, but I couldn't find it in my guide. The area was sand dunes with grass in a clearing from Pine Trees, which is approx 800 metres from a tidal estuary. Sorry, abit of everything, how that someone can help.

| | | Re: Unknown Orchid I too would call this pure Common Spotted Orchid. The hybrid with D. maculata is said to occur much less readily than most other marsh orchid hybrids and this is my own experience too. In this case I see no hint of hybridity.

Are there standard features that would indicate possible hybridity, not just between D.fushii and D.maculata but within the marsh orchids too? | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
