| | | Plant ID please Can anyone identify this plant for me? I found it growing on a local river bank. It grows from rhizomes on the surface and is spreading rapidly.
I broke a few rhizomes off earlier this year, and planted them in my garden. They flower first and then the leaves appear. |

I've just googled "Darmera peltata" and you are correct. It's common names are Indian Rhubarb and Umbrella plant.
Thank you very much for the info, as I've been trying to identify it for almost a year, now. |

| | | Re: Plant ID please Yes, it is Darmera peltata, formerly called Peltiphyllum peltatum, common name Indian Rhubarb.
It is not at all common as an escape, so if this is a new find, the vice-county botanical recorder may be pleased to know about it.
