Purple Flower
I took this photo in June 2007 at Oxford Island in Northern Ireland. It was about 16 inches tall. I hope someone can provide an ID.

I'd say an honesty, Lunaria spp - you'd know for sure if it had seed cases!

Looks like Dames-violet, Hesperis matronalis. They come in all colours from white through to deep purple - a garden escaper.

I agree - Dame's-violet.

There are some seedpods in the pic - the long thin things. Honesty would have round flat pods
