| | | Cwm Idwal plants Hi I photographed these two flowers at Cwm Idwal a gorgeous mountainous area in Wales. Does anyone have any idea of their identity. Sorry I don't have any photos of the second plants leaves I wasn't paying attention and thought it was another saxifrage. |

The lower photograph is Spring Sandwort, Minuartia verna.

| | | Re: Cwm Idwal plants Here are two tricky IDs for anyone who's good on Orobanche (Alan S please):
The first is a small Orobanche I saw on Guernsey and botanical friend told me it was a variety of O. minor but I'm not convinced even though I've published as that: Orobanche minor
The second was in Gozo (I'm Wild about the Med too!) and I've got lovely photos but I can't make it out. I thought it was O. alba at first which is grows on Thyme, then I thought it might be O. pubescens and now I really haven't a clue. It was growing on composites I think and was about 40 to 70 cm tall. Unknown Orobanche
Stop Press: just this minute taken delivery of Orobanche by Kreutz with superb photos but it doesn't help much. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
