Help to ID woundwort?
Any help to identify this flower I photographed this morning will be appreciated.



It looks like a Woundwort but I'm not sure, as it seems darker then other photos I've checked!

Your plant is Hedge Woundwort (Stachys sylvatica) - the flowers are typically dark reddish-purple

... and another way is to see if the woundwort shieldbug, Eysacoris fabricii takes up residence

Yes it was taken on the edge of Grafham Water, the mist was hanging around for a long time this morning!. Maurice
