| | | Poppy field locations I am actually looking for a poppy field around Surrey, Sussex & Kent area but in the mean time here is two I know of
1) Just before J10 on the M40 (going south). Drove past this today and it looked spectacular.
2) Just north of Winchester. Havent got much info on this yet - when I first heard of it the poppies were only just appearing - should have more news this week.
Please add your poppy fields to this thread
Thanks

Number 2 above is on the B3420 just north of Winchester
And another one is at Bullington Cross, Hampshire - apparently is it huge
Hopefully I can find one a bit closer to home - the nearest so far is a good hour drive

| | | Re: Poppy field locations Found one near Cranham, Gloucestershire last Saturday, 16th June. I've put a photo up which should appear in the Wildflower Gallery once it's been approved. Afraid it's not much use to anyone in the south-east, though! |

| | | Re: Poppy field locations I'm going to try to resurect this request as it's now June 2008. Anyone finding a scenic poppy field in the Surrey/Sussex/Hants areas please post a response - they should be out now or very shortly. |

| | | Re: Poppy field locations Can you be more specific as to whether it's actually there NOW, - date as I write, 27th June. Poppy fields don't exist per se., they suddenly appear from nowhere unexpectedly when the conditions are right or the soil disturbed, - the following year the likelihood is that there will not be a poppy in sight. I've found some wonderful poppy fields over th last 10 year or so but NEVER in the same place second time round. You can't say you know where there's a poppy field, based on a past experience. |
