| | | Another white one I think this is probably an allium of some kind but I don't know which. At first I thought it was ramsons allium ursinum. However the leaves were definitely much too thin - much more like bluebell leaves. Also, the pink stripe in the petals has me confused.
Any suggestions?

| | | Re: Another white one I went back today to have another look at this one. If it helps with the ID, there was no discernible onion smell.

| | | Re: Another white one It was difficult to photograph. The flowers were on long stalks and the leaves were lying in a tangled heap.

| | | Re: Another white one That certainly looks to me like Stinking Onion... as it is sometimes known. I think you have to break the stem or leaves for the smell to be apparant.

jaki | I have just looked that up - Allium triquetrum. It looks very similar except that my flowers are more upright rather than hanging down and also mine have a distinct pink stripe.
I will go out again tomorrow and break one of the stems.

| | | Re: Another white one Is it growing wild or in a garden? So many garden plants are hopping over the fence now and going wild or hybridising. It does look like an allium but I don't recognise that pink stripe so think it might be an escape. Some people stupidly throw out garden plants and that plays havoc with our native flora. |

| | | Re: Another white one I didn't put it there and I've been here for 20 years.
I only have one neighbour and I found this quite a distance from their garden. It is unlikely to have come from them.
