| | | Anyone recognise this view?
I took this while walking in mid Wales last year. I can't remember exactly where it was and I'd really like to know so I can go back!
It was within an hours drive of Machynlleth and I think I remember starting out at a forestry commission woodland or some kind of hawk or bird of prey centre.
It's really frustrating me because my memories not normally this bad!!!
Help!!!!!

Help!!!!! | there is only one birds of prey centre in mid wales as far as i am aware which is, Falconry Centre, Experience Days, Owls, Hawk Walks, Bird of Prey Displays , unless of course you are thinking of a wild bird feeding centre like gigrin , tho that view doesnt look familiar and i know the gigrin area quite well
one other poosibilty is the forestry commision red kite feding station here Forestry Commission - Nant yr Arian -
any of that ring any bells ??

I didn't recognize it until it was ID'd, one beautiful valley can look
like another beautiful valley in Wales. You said you was there walking,
was you doing the 7 mile circular which I think is covered in the
kittiwake guides, if so, what a stunning walk. Saying that any walk
in that area is a stunning walk.

Ian | To be honest I can't remember what walk it was but I shouldn't imagine it was the 7 mile one as much as I'd liked to have walked it, the other half finds walking to the loo too much sometimes
I remember we climbed down from the car park and walked on a narrow path along the top of the hill looking over the valley and eventually ended up at the small lake near the visitor centre. And you're right, Wales is beautiful it's hard to distinguish!

The path you started on is part of the circular walk. It's a walk
I've gone back to on several occasions and recommend highly.
Not only do you have stunning scenery, from midday onwards
the Red Kites start gathering for the afternoon feeding. To see
them in the wild away from the feeding station is worth making
a whole day of the visit.

Ian | We didn't watch the feeding, we have dogs and it wouldn't have been fair because on of our dogs seems the think he can chase anything in flight and tries to do so!
However, we did the walk during late morning/early afternoon so we were lucky enough to see quite a few Red Kite as they started gathering. We have quite a large number around where I live (Berks/Oxon border) so I see Red Kites every day but never tire of them!
