| | | arsonist sets fire to vistor centre Our local Visitor centre Parkhall Country Park as been burnt to the ground and had to be demolished. There was also some Stables about 3/4 Mile away also set on fire same night. The Animals were led to saftey but considerable damage done to the stables. A 19 year old has been arrested.

Also some owl nesting boxes were put up last spring at a secret location, somebody nicked them overnight.Nothing is sacred.

Jim | I think you got it spot on there Jim. The police catch them only for the magistrates to let them off with little punishment for the amount of damage and cost to all of us.

It is simply one persons actions destroying something constructed by/for the community and enjoyment of many. As said above, no doubt he'll be the victim once psychologists and social workers have "Understood" him.
A local nature reserve near me (Stanwick lakes) had built a replica iron age roundhouse as part of a heritage trail. The house had been built through local community groups, volunteers and schools, then as soon as it was near complete, someone decided to torch it. To my knowledge they were never caught.
