On Monday the 26th September I'm driving from Derbyshire to Hampshire, going through Warwickshire, Oxfordshire & Berkshire. It is quite a reasonable drive and I'd like to stop off at a few places to see some wildlife - especially wildlife I've not seen before. I'll then be spending a day and a half in Hampshire, before heading back up. (Dropping a friend off at a job interview)
I know this a quite a difficult question to answer, considering you don't know what I have seen before, but I'll give you a rough idea of some of the things I'd like to see:
Any scarce birds - anything reasonably uncommon (or rarer) that has been hanging around for a while. And sites for Dartford Warbler
Any feral parrots or parakeets (especially interested if other than Ring-Necked, but Ring-Necked would be nice anyway)
Sika Deer - Decent sites in Hampshire?
Wild Boar - Long shot I know - but any halfway decent sites?
Wall Lizard, Smooth Snake, Sand Lizard (Though probably bit late in the year for them)
Alpine Newt, Midwife toad etc.,
I know there are some species of Stick Insect introduced on the South Coast - any in Hampshire?
Feral Terrapins
Any hybrid animals - (I stopped off when driving to Inverness to see a hybrid Wood Duck x Shelduck - bizarre, made my day though)
Any escapee feral Ducks & Geese (can't get enough of them - still need to see Ruddy Shelduck & Emperor Goose at least)
Any characterful insects - Once again the end of September isn't the best time for them.
