| | | Re: A Horizontal Tour of Scotland Thanks sukie! That might be where we were on the 14th. We were upstream from Grantown-on-Spey so close to Nethy Bridge. Audrey will know. The water was very high because of all the rain in the previous week and we couldn't even see the places where they normally enter and exit the river.
My failure to see otters is the only excuse I need to go back again in a few years, although it was on the news a few days after I got home that otters are now on the Medway here in Kent.

They have become used to seeing people fishing where they feed and dont mind sharing the space!I was there about 3 weeks ago, unfortunately I didnt see any but if you are looking for otters thats a pretty good place to start. They are apparently pretty visible there, not so shy. | Quote:

Dave P. | Sounds like a place I'll have to investigate! It wasn't where we were on the 14th though, we were much closer to Grantown than Nethy. I'll get Bob to ask some of the locals next time he's driving the Nethy bus and try and find out exactly where it is.
There are some lovely walks around Nethy, we walked along the river Nethy one day last week and saw some Red Squirrels at a feeder station, as well as a lot of forest birds. We also saw more Song Thrushes in a couple of hours than we've seen all summer.
Regards, Audrey. |
