Southern Lakes/Grisedale forest area

Hi - I've just re-visited this thread as I have now booked our break -much later than originally planned owing to OH being quite ill!! We are going 10th - 15th July - have booked on a very small site (working farm) near Yealand Redmayne (& Leighton Moss). Not quite as near to Lakes as I wanted originally but we can use it as a base for days out. I know it won't be so good for birds at that time of year but we are very much looking forward to it - mainly thanks to great suggestions from you all!

I'm pleased that you both are able to get away and I'm confident that you'll enjoy the Yealand area. There's so much going on in terms of wildlife you won't be bored.

Jenny Browns Point, Arnside Knott, Leighton Moss are all within easy distance.

If you do venture across the estuary to Grange over Sands (recommended), you are welcome to call in for a cuppa!
