Kingfishers in Salisbury Area

Does anyone have any idea where i may be able to photograph Kingfishers around the Salisbury area? I have tried Langford Lakes close to Marlborough but they have left and are apparently nesting along the River Avon somewhere. I would greatly appreciate some help.

Access to the Avon is not easy. Most of it runs through private estates such as Longford and Trafalgar who lease their fishing out to syndicates or clubs.

You could try Lord's Walk at Amesbury early in the morning or walk up from the Butts in Salisbury towards Stratford sub Castle. I find the best thing with kingfishers is just to sit down, wait and be ready to spot them when you hear that piercing call.
