| | | Places to visit near Bungay, Suffolk? Hi, folks.
I am going to be staying for a week near Bungay in Suffolk, in mid/late May. Can people suggest good places to visit in the surrounding area, with wildlife interest/good walks etc? I will probably have use of a vehicle whilst I'm there, but would prefer not to have to travel too far from where I'm staying, if possible.
All positive suggestions appreciated. |

The Angles Way passes close to Bungay so could give some good walking over farmland and by the river Waveney.

| | | Re: Places to visit near Bungay, Suffolk? Thanks, Dave. I've never been to either Minsmere or Strumpshaw Fen - and I'm an RSPB member, so no excuse! My brother lives near Norwich, maybe I can persuade him to come out and explore too...
Fingers crossed for good weather in late May. It'd be lovely to do some dragonfly spotting as well as birds and flowers. |

Strumpshaw or Minsmere. Your about in the middle.
Personally i'd go to minsmere and get there early. I normally get there about 7.30 in the morning. It starts getting a bit busy by lunch time.
Cheers David. |

| | | Re: Places to visit near Bungay, Suffolk? You'll be quite close to Redgrave and Lopham Fen, good for birds and also home of the great raft spider. It's quieter than big RSPB reserves. |
