| | | Brockholes Nature reserve Hi all,
i have noticed there has been a little bit of interest in this site in the past so i just thought i would share a bit of info on it.
I work for the wildlife trust and i am based at brockholes, so i have had the pleasure of seeing and being involved in the development of the site. It really is rich in wildlife even with all the heavy machinery moveing around. I dont want to ramble on to much so here is a link to the trusts web site, i hope im alright posting this? Brockholes
Thanks, Mark |

| | Re: Brockholes Nature reserve The site is looking good and will without doubt become a fantastic place for birds and birding.
I looked on the roll of contributors for the fund raising appeal, Leigh Ornithological Society are not mentioned, i know they gave £500. can you do the honours and sort it please. regards Davy

I'm very happy that this reserve is being created in Lancashire.
It looks set to become a formiddable wildlife resource that will benefit and encourage nature lovers for many years to come.
I think much credit is due to Lancashire Wildlife Trust in having the foresight to take on the challenge. Much credit also, to those companies, institutions, and individuals who have helped with finances.
Regards,
Mike. |

| | | Re: Brockholes Nature reserve This does look like it is going to be a tremendous place, a real flagship reserve. I just hope that it will not be at the expense of some of their other sites.

| | | Re: Brockholes Nature reserve Wow its been a while since i have been on here. Tarka74, there is a regular voluteer group that goes out a couple times a week, i can try and get more details if ur interested? Dont worry chris, it wont be at the expense of any of the other reserves. We have recently aquired a new reserve in wigan which is part of the flashes, we are starting on the access paths and roads next week so people can get in and enjoy it I hope u all caught a glimpse off brockholes on countryfile a couple week back, it wasnt much but better than nothing
