| | | Anything to see near Slough? I find myself faced with the delights of a week in Slough next week
With the evenings getting a little lighter though, I'm hoping there might be time for a little walk or the chance to take few photo's before it gets too dark.
Any good spots within a few miles of Slough that are worth a visit? Burnham Beeches is already on my list, but interested to hear more about it, especially if anyone knows of any good spots to see the Green Woodpeckers there. I think, with the traffic in the evening rush, that Bedfont Lakes is probably a bit too far to be worth it though. Any other little gems known only to locals? |

| | | Re: Anything to see near Slough? Not to far away you have Windsor great park / Saville Gardens etc, Burnham Beeches do shut the gates to the main car parking area at night but you can still park on the edges and walk in, spent huge amounts of my childhood their and cannot tell you the amount of times ending up getting lost |

| | | Re: Anything to see near Slough? Yep, spotted Black Park on the map too, my assumption was that Burnham Beeches would be more promising for wildlife maybe?
Stoke Poges now also on my list for one evening, thanks Jim. Quote:

Maybe I'd better take a headtorch just in case
If anyone else is vaguely interested, Burnhams website includes maps to a few walks < clicky> |
