| | | Re: Anything to see near Slough? Well, I'm back a day earlier than expected and only had time for one evening out, so went to Burnham Beeches.
Lovely spot, well worth the visit, it must be stunning in Autumn. Heard several Green Woodpeckers, but no luck spotting them, many Greater Spotted Woodpecker about though. Also, saw a Jay, Nuthatch, Little Grebe on the Middle Pond and a Nightingale east of the pond.
Did a couple of circuits of the Green Woodpecker trail and it was after 7pm when I was coming to the end of the 2nd circuit and I got a nice long view of a very nonchalant Muntjac from the boardwalk in an open wetland area! Maybe not that interesting for some, but they haven't made it this far north yet to my knowledge, so this was my first wild Muntjac | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
