| | | Dee Estuary Bird Watching Hi,
I am due to be in Chester for a few days in early April and am hoping to free up about 1/2 a day to go to one of the reserves down the side of the Dee estuary. I know its not long but......Can anyone suggest which would be best? It is likely to be 12th April in the morning so I think the tide will be rising.
Many thanks

| | | Re: Dee Estuary Bird Watching Parkgate might be worth a look, though the hen harriers and short-eared owls might've gone by then. The R.S.P.B reserve at Inner Marsh Farm is a good bet as well, though I have a feeling that it is members only.

| | | Re: Dee Estuary Bird Watching Chris, thanks for the suggestions.
Looking at the Dee estuary site they make a big thing of being there at Spring tides, do you happen to know if it is still interesting at not so high tides? It will only be 8mtrs on the day I can get there.
Thanks

| | | Re: Dee Estuary Bird Watching I can still be interesting, though the higher the tide the better. A 'scope would be advantageous. I often visit a nearby area overlooking the estuary called Denhall Lane, at nearby Burton, that is a good vantage point also. At the right time of the day it is good for barn owl and possibly short-eared owl.
