looking for a stream for field class near chatham in kent

Hi, I will risk asking a stupid question since I just came in to this country:

I am looking for a (hopefully nice) stream near Chatham where to take students to learn some fluvial geomorphology concepts. Since we would be wading, surveying and in general crossing from one streambank to the other taking measurements, would be nice it is not too wide nor too deep, nor only silt, hopefully at least some sand (gravel I suspect would be asking too much in Kent).

I have taught a class in streams in Chile where students do some topo measurements, characterize sediment, measure flow, water quality and also identify macroinvertebrates and other stream organisms, as well as riparian vegetation. And always found a nice setting to do it, so thanks in advance for any leads. If cannot be near Chatham, any other place in Kent in say a 100 km radius would also work
