| | | Wildlife sites in cornwall (birds/seals) Hi, having just moved down to the falmouth area Im on the lookout for new wildlife spots.
Does anyone have any recommendations for top birding sites around here?
Also Ive seen many pictures of seals from cornwall coasts, but does anyone know where any are concentrated, ive seen the odd 1 but are there any areas where they are having pups?
Thanks for any help

| | | Re: Wildlife sites in cornwall (birds/seals) You have so many places to choose from, lucky you! One place I would strongly suggest is Porthgwarra (between Falmouth and Land's End). Brilliant for sea-birds and basking sharks in summer. Scenically, it is utterly charming to cast ones eyes upon as well.
Expect lots of other suggestions on here as well and welcome to WAB.

Check out the coastline from Portreath to Hayle, nr Godrevy lighthouse for seals. Hayle estuary is great for birds.
Welcome to Cornwall.

| | | Re: Wildlife sites in cornwall (birds/seals) from the cliff near Godrevy you can look down on a remote cove that a seal hotspot
and there used to be a resident seal at portreath that would join you for a surf |

Welcome to Cornwall. | Absolutely agree, I saw my first Curlew there in 2007 - two males fighting on-and-off in fact, and even a possible Bonapartes Gull! See Gull on Hayle Estuary
