| | | Re: Tagged Tree I believe these tags are possibly placed by land surveyors on what can be called 'bearing trees' or 'witness trees' ... effectively they define the corner of a survey tract and might be adjacent to a bench mark ... that is, a point where a spot elevation has been recorded. |

| | | Re: Tagged Tree These tags are typically used to record the trees growing in a particular area or site.. They each have a unique number and somewhwere there is a database (and possibly a map) listing species, location plus other info about the tree. Commonly used for TPOSs and Veteran Tree Survey work.
Quite what 'Last co-ords wrong' is meant to imply on the tree though I don't know. Surely they would have just corrected the co-ords!
