| | | London Wetlands Centre There must be hundreds of you that have visited the London Wetlands Centre
I have not got around to doing that yet, is it a really worthwhile trip?

| | | Re: London Wetlands Centre I love this place, nightshade. I really can't say why. I like the layout and all the different habitats, and the guides on the free tours are fab (only been on two, but they were both good and now I'm wondering if one of them is a well-known WABBER).
I think it's fairly expensive to get in. But that's London for you, I guess.
If I lived nearer I go more often.
But this is all just my opinion.

| | | Re: London Wetlands Centre We went a couple of weeks ago, largely because we were in the area and had previously joined WWT for the year, so want to try and visit as many centres as we can.
It was a Saturday and it seemed very busy with children's party groups whilst we were there, so I'd probably avoid the weekend if you prefer peace and tranquility! Having said that, I do appreciate how important it is to get youngsters interested in wildlife, so parties at places like this can be a very good way of getting them started.
It was a pleasant visit, but I think if we had paid nearly £10 each to get in, we might have felt a little bit disappointed. We really loved the centre at Welney in Norfolk when we went there though, so perhaps it's very much down to what you see on the day in question. I agree that doing a tour with one of the guides can really add an extra dimension when you don't know the place or the species they have, but unfortunately we didn't have time on this occasion. |

It is a great place with plenty of other good places nearby such as Richmond Park, Wimbledon Common + Kew Gardens to name but 3. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
