| | | Re: Yorkshire bird sites (esp Peregrines) We've now booked ourselves into a cottage near Stokesley and Carlton-in-Cleveland, so we'll be right on the northern edge of the North York Moors. If anyone knows of any good spots in that neck-o-the-woods for any local specialities (wildlife that is ), I'd be very grateful. Thanks a lot (can't wait, but will have to) |

I loved the moors, and although we didn't see many wild BOPs we did happen across a whole load of tethered ones belonging to a falconer (see my blog). The grouse especially were great fun, and Bempton, where we called in briefly on our way home, was awesome. A good holiday, and a lovely county. |

| | | Re: Yorkshire bird sites (esp Peregrines) glad you enjoyed it, i have never seen a peregrine in the wild over here before, though its not for lack of looking ha ha, the first time i saw one in the wild i had just stepped out on to the observation deck of the empire state building in new york and the first thing i saw was a peregrine flying straight over my head to its nest on a bracket for a satelite dish !!!!! was in heaven. Was a perfectly clear day and i was looking and photographing the mast, got some very strange looks !!! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
