I want to photograph puffins

The puffins start arriving at Skomer from around early April, however numbers can fluctuate dramatically during the first half of the month, however you should be ok if you're going mid month.
I notice from another post you've responded to that you're staying in Pembrey. Bear in mind that you're going to have a 2 hour journey to get there. If you're going to the island on a weekend, you really need to be at Martin's Haven early, 0900 at the latest in my opinion. You might get away with getting there later on a week day. There are no landings on a Monday, expect for Bank Holidays.
Hope you have a great day, I did three landings on the island and about ten trips around by boat, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Thanks Ade. We have taken the journey into account - its about 1.5 hours as we are not in Pembrey . Hoping to go there on a Friday as we cannot be that flexible - so keeping fingers crossed that the weather is not too awful on the day we choose!

I am so excited!
