I know of four Trout Becks in Cumbria and they're all stunning places. |

. | I couldn't agree more. Moor House and nearby Cross Fell for me is the most wild and remote place in England. I just love the North Pennines.

| | | Re: cameras on troutbeck teesdale I've been working on the lower end of one of them today near Troutbeck Bridge. It's been glorious now the chilling east wind has abated. I'll be in Matterdale too in the next two weeks - that's another great place. |

Then in 1994 I spent the summer staying in a caravan in Dufton, doing a geological map for my uni' project. High Cup was slap bang in the middle of my 'patch' and I got to know every nook and cranny. Alas, I've only been back once since then, about five years ago on a cold autumn day. The mist was blowing up the 'cup' from the west and as it hit the valley head was rolling up onto the moors beyond. Good days.
