Northumberland & Clumber Park

Shall be spending a day in Clumber Park on Friday and then the next 7 days in Northumberland (just north of Alnwick) and was wondering if anyone could suggest any must see sites - especially for plants, but interested in anything.

Clumber can be good for Honey Buzzards and Hawfinches in season. If you like plants, go to Lindisfarne (Northumberland) and I believe Jacob's Ladder occurs near Alwinton, but for specifics you will have to do deeper research. The dune systems of Lindisfarne are superb botanically. I went last summer and there was loads of Grass of Parnassus in flower, and Dark Green Fritillaries knocking about.

Lindisfarne is on my list of places I want to visit, though suspect I shall be a bit early for some of the dune flora. I shall have to look up Alwinton on the map - not a name that's come up in my investigations so far
