| | | Anyone been to the Llyn Peninsula? My, the hubby & dogs are off to the Llyn Peninsula, north west Wales in a few weeks for a short break before I start my new job.
It's an area we've never visited before but are keen to see as much as possible while we're there.
Has anyone got any pointers of good places to visit for views/wildlife (where we can take the dogs)?
Ta!

| | | Re: Anyone been to the Llyn Peninsula? I've not been to the Lyn Penninsula for a long time but there are some super beaches for walking on at Criccieth and over the other side at Morfa Nefyn.
Portmadoc is good for birdwatching on the Cob/estary and the cliffs overlooking Bardsey Island are good but summer is the best time to view from there.
Also in that area is the huge sandy beach named Hell's mouth!
Enjoy your trip! |

| | | Re: Anyone been to the Llyn Peninsula? Thanks for the suggestions, both of you. I just hope the weather gets a tad warmer or I think I'll find it hard to resist the temptation not to go back to the fire in the cottage too early each day!

We're not going till next month so hopefully the sun will feel a little less shy!

| | | Re: Anyone been to the Llyn Peninsula? There's a superb Iron Age hill fort near Gwrtheyrn (not far from Nefyn). It's one one the the two Yr Eifl peaks and well worth a visit.
There a description of it here: BBC - North West Wales Celtic Heritage - Tre'r Ceiri
