| | | Re: Shropshire countryside I moved to Shropshire when I was 10 from the heart of Wolverhampton to a farmhouse Nr Cardington in the shadow of Caer Caradoc It to me is the most beautiful place in the world ... I now live on the outskirts of a town and as a child in the 60's it was awe inspiring to just walk over the fields and down lanes..
The fauna and flora around that part of Shropshire is amazing and to this day I have not heard a dawn chorus to match the one there...
Visit Shropshire you won't be disappointed..I also worked in a stables and our daily exercise was over the Stiperstones the Devils chair rocks (tales of)still give me goosebumps...

| | | Re: Shropshire countryside Just read this thread. I was born near Wenlock Edge, then moved away ( to Northants) a couple of years later -yet I still call myself a Shropshire lass! We had many a happy holiday around there, my favourite was on a farm by deepest, darkest (greenest!) Clun. Truly magical. |

| | | Re: Shropshire countryside South Shropshire - undiscovered and simply stunning! All of the places that have been mentioned are worthwhile walks, but there are many many off the beaten track locations too. Wonderful old farmhouses, attractive working market towns, and endless horizons once you're up on the hills. Try cycling too, particularly up on the high unfenced lanes of Clun Forest - this is what life must have been like before the onslaught of the car. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
