| | | A walk along the creek I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this, but here goes.
During my 30 minute lunch break I took a walk along by the creek which runs past my office, there are a few overflow ponds and one has a small island used by cormorants and little egrets.
I got really close to this little egret and was about to press the shutter when a schoolboy called to his friend.
There were hundreds of butterflies including this little blue one. I wish they would settle with their wings open so we could see them properly.. |

Now that is what I call a lunch break. I wish I could wander around an area like that in my lunch break. Do you get anything unusual turn up there at all?

| | | Re: A walk along the creek To me, "unusual" means that I don't recognise it. There are quite a few unusual birds there, I saw a weasel once, he froze solid when he saw me which was good. The Harty Ferry/Oare region of North Kent is a bird sanctuary. |

| | | Re: A walk along the creek Hi Rich - I can only agree with John - lovely place for a lunchtime walk!
By the way, I would say your butterfly is a Holly Blue ( Celastrina argiolus) .... |

| | | Re: A walk along the creek Yes, it's an ideal location, and three pubs within walking distance.
The path I walk is part of the Saxon Shore Way. Walk in the other direction and there are lakes. |

| | | Re: A walk along the creek Hi Rich-I've done about 7 1/2 miles of the Saxon Shore walk, it's great isn't it. You are lucky working in a location like that. It would take about a week to walk the whole thing though I think.
Great pictures too. Nice captures. ww
