What's that in The Wash?

Hi All,

Just been wandering around The Wash on a Google Earth map on Rare Bird Alert, when I noticed a blob in the southern area. Zoomed in and it is a perfectly circular feature, so presumably it's man-made, yet it looks like an aerial view of a volcano but with an obvious circular line within the feature.

Just looked again and it appears to be a mound that is centrally depressed

Anyone know what it is?

I believe it's a structure built in the seventies as a trial freshwater reservoir.

Yes I've just had a look at it Adam. Perfectly circular, looks like a concrete structure, that has turned green over time, a depressed centre that appears filled with some sort of muddy deposit. Weird! Perhaps some sort of disused wartime fortification?
Tracy Island?
UFO launchpad?
Sea folly?

Looking at the OS map, it appears exactly as your description, but with water in the centre. There is another one in 5427, a bit smaller. No idea what it is at this time!
