We are off to Jersey tomorrow for a week and we are packing as I type! 
Neither of us have been before so if anyone has any top tips on things to do/see ie nice pubs!! it would be gratefully appreciated. All the fishing gear is sorted so plenty of that will be going on and we also plan a day trip to St Malo so I've just packed me French dictionary!! 
Looking on the interweb and at maps it looks as though there will be loads of rock pools as the tide goes out very far so I might see if I can nab meself a lobster or crab. My girlfriend reckons there are Red squirrels on the island and if so anyone know where abouts we could spot the little critters? |

Thanks John, it really does look nice although I don't think the weather is to favourable but we can live with that, it's my birthday on Tuesday (12th) so we are planning to go for a nice meal and I've got my heart set on having a lobster!
I will keep 'em peeled for any shrooms that may be about and I've also packed a bird feeder and some sunflower hearts in the hope that we have a tree or something where I can hang it from.
I'm quite excited!!! |

Have a good hol mate, dont forget to unplug computer before you go because of all the thunder storms weve had recently, mine got damaged  been off line for 3 days due to the storms, back now as you can read. shei

Hi stewy,
The only wild red squirel I've ever seen was in a garden up on a hill looking over Beaumont Bay in Jersey. I also saw a Hoopoe there. I would imagine the woodland around the St Catherine resevoir would be an even better bet to see squirrels.
The rock fishing is awesome. You might find the Wraic weed a problem around now, particularly if you have a blow. Try fishing the rocks around the White Rock for Wrasse and pollack, English rock (In the shadow of Gorey castle.) for mackerel and garfish or along the harbour walls at Sandstreet for mullet and various other mini species.
You are in for a treat! The scenery is nothing short of breathtaking, particularly if you walk the coastal paths and are fit enough to get well away from the parking areas. Gorey Castle is worth a look and Corbierre lighthouse and the caves on Plemont beach. The German Underground Hospital is another popular attraction. The whole island is a seascape photographer's Nirvana. I bet you'll love it!
