hovering around the fields, trees etc, very pretty, it's nice to meet someone who lives so close by.

| | | Re: Anyone from the Lothians? Hi there i've recently just joined this site, and i've lived all my life in West Lothian in the south west of the county totaly surounded by moorland, untill a lot of trees were planted, although pockets of woodland were not uncommon, i recently saw a great spotted wood pecker,
this may not be rare here but its a first for me i also saw a realy strange spider i realy should have taken a photo but i never thought of it to be honest, this spider was common garden spider in size but the body was a bright dayglow yellow, head and legs were light brown the head also had a white spot, can anyone tell me what kind of spider this could be
this wee beastie was on my car one morning went out to go to work but it was gone when i looked again, hence no photo???
Close to the same spot that i saw the woodpecker i've seen a Sparrowhawk (loads actualy) saw one kill a blackbird right in front of me, very bold indeed.
