| | | Re: Wildlife around Tenby Take a walk across the south beach up to Giltars Point. Last year it was glorious lots of rest harrow, wild thyme, birds foot trefoil & greater knapweed in abundance. we spotted Gannets off the coast and a Green Turtle!
Marros has a stunning uninhabited beach with prehistoric tree stumps from days when it was all forest. Lots Of Fulmars & a few good Rock Pools.
The Lily ponds at Stackpole Estate is a wildlife trust nature reserve. Wildlife in abundance in a beautiful setting a walk through will lead down to broad Haven beach again another lovely spot. Plenty of Swans, Shag, Cormorant, Toads, Dragon Flies, Schools of small fish (not sure which) can be seen along the board walks. Further on down towards Broad Haven is the place to spot snakes beginning with the letter A. Clouded Yellow Butterflies and from Broad haven to Barrafundle more Fulmars but closer to you as your on top of the cliff face, Vipers bugloss, Orchids, Chough & Raven.
Hope that will wet your appetite, enjoy your Holiday!

| | | Re: Wildlife around Tenby All most forgot you may see a large Terapin in the lily ponds, not native of course. A trip to Newport Pembrokeshire maybe rewarding to you? 2 years back we spotted Dolphins hunting Mackerel. The Presilli Mountains to your right if you travel through Clunderwen to Newport has the most spectacular view at the summit where can see on a clear day right over to Newport & pans right across over to the Gower, Absolutely stunning (great spot too for Sparrowhawk & Raven). All around Pembrokeshire is great for so many Birds. I have seen more different species of bird there than anywhere else. Osprey, Ring Neck Plover, Oyster Catcher, Turnstone, Warblers, Curlew, Stone Chat, Wheatear, Dipper, Twite, I could go on & on, not to forget Puffins over on Skomer.

| | | Re: Wildlife around Tenby Pembrokeshire is not an area I know too well, though did have a week in a caravan at Narberth on a uni' field trip in 1993. The place I remember liking the best though was Marloes. The beach there was a true delight, with wide, empty sands and a racing surf. I promised myself I'd return one day, to savour it more sedately, rather than drawing silly rock structures like I did in 1993.
Well done on the turtle Jez. To see one in British waters would be a wonderful experience.

| | | Re: Wildlife around Tenby That's the beauty of Pembrokeshire! The busiest place but one I like spending a lot of time at is Narbeth (twinned with Ludlow) yuck. Check out the cheese deli at the top of the main high street & don't forget the green gages not forgetting the organic shop for all my needs down towards the castle . What can I say I just love there it's so laid back. Tenby and surrounding I have a lot of love for. Saundersfoot as well as Tenby my 2 major shell fish gastos-brings back sweet memories!
