| | | Moore nature reserve was thinking of heading up there tomorrow by train to warrington bank quay station as i don't drive,so i thought i'd take my bike as i don't know how far it is from the station but virgin trains put paid to that idea.
you have to book a bike even though it is only one stop from wigan and they wanted over £7 quid for the pleasure,so if anyone knows how far the reserve is from the station,i don't mind a longish walk i would be grateful
cheers ,Frank |

You'd probably be better getting the number 31 bus from the main bus station in Warrington (its pretty close to both rail stations).
It should drop you off at the Red Lion but I'm not sure how close it is to walk from the Red Lion to the reserve. It will be at lot closer than walking from the rail station as it is over 4 miles.
The bus eaves Warrington every 2 hours on a Sunday and I think the last return bus is about 7pm.
You can get the full details here:- Transport Direct - Britain's free online journey planner
Let me know if you need more info.

| | | Re: Moore nature reserve Sorry for a late reply, hope you got there ok. For future visits its not to far to walk from bank quay, if you come out of the station turn right , follow the signs for the golf driving range (the road runs along the train track) just at the entrance for the golf range theres a official pathway allthough overgrown it takes you over the train track bridge and straight on to moore nature reserve at the eastern reedbeds. The other option is to get the bus (sorry dont know the no) to The Stag pub (A56 chester rd) theres a bridge that crosses the mersy link with a pathway at the side (sign posted trans pennine trail) again this put you at the eastern reed beds after a 50 mtr walk. |
