| | | Devon wildlife localities Im off to a cottage near Totnes (between Dartmouth and Buckfastleigh) in the first week of June and I wonder if anyone knows any good wildlife spots. I interested in good spots for dragonflies and beaches for rockpooling but any good spots will be useful - plus any good wildlife parks.
thanks in advance |

| | | Re: Devon wildlife localities Wembury beach is pretty famous for it's rockpools, you can find some amazing things there. I'm pretty sure it's owned by the National Trust nowadays. If you visit look out for Edible Crabs, Squat Lobsters, Porcelain Crabs, Worm Pipefish, Cornish Suckers and loads of other interesting things, plus if you walk up onto the cliffs you may well find Cirl Buntings.

| | | Re: Devon wildlife localities I'm not really sure but I would imagine Slapton Ley would be good for dragonflies Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve
I also vaguely remember something about some disused gravel pits near Bovey Tracey that may be worth a look... if you can find them!
Edit. The pits near Bovey Tracey might be these Stover Country Park or they might not...
