| | | Re: Farne Island & Northumbria - Advice Please. Hi Davy as a born and bred Northumbrian i can highly recommend a trip to the Farnes you wont be disappointed. Back end of may will see plenty of birds on the islands+ great views of the seal colonies. Coquet is worth the trip just for the Roseate terns. Holy island wont disappoint, and the Druridge bay area has several Wildlife trust reserves worth a visit. There is a Little Tern colony at nearby Beadnell (wardened Couple of local Blogs worth checking out for regular info as follows. Boulmer Birder... Bird North East

I've been to the Farne Islands a few times and continue to find it a wonderful place to photograph sea birds. You can read my write up on the Farne Islands here.
You will be too early to see the classic "puffin with beak full of fish" type of thing, but there should still be plenty of activity to keep you enthralled.

Thanks for the information and the links.
It's just under 3 weeks before we make the trip, the links you provided should help whet our appetite.
Thanks again,

Hopefully the weather will stay good, that way we'll be too busy looking for wildlife to worry about architecture.

| | Re: Farne Island & Northumbria - Advice Please. Well, Bamburgh Castle may not suit you, but I don't think you should not recommend because you do not like it. It is stunning to look at, and I have been inside, I liked it. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
