| | | Edenbridge I know it's a bit specific, so not expecting anything from this but if anyone know Edenbridge, can they suggest any local areas that are good to see wildlife? I'm currently out of work nursing my parents but get out and about when I can to walk the dog or pursue my interest in photography. At the moment, I have photos lots of cows and sheep, lol.
Any suggestions are much appreciated. :-)

| | | Re: Edenbridge Hello Kol, Bough Beech Reservoir is probably your nearest "organised" watching area, but just a walk accross the local fields or woods should provide oportunities to photograph wildlife, you just need to keep your eyes open. |

| | | Re: Edenbridge There's quite a bit round there - do you drive? - will try and think of a few places for you
There's High Rocks (avoid weekends and hols) interesting things in there but make sure you go when it's quiet or you wont see anything!
If you can get down as far as Hassocks way there are some lovely walks across the South Downs.
The whole of Ashdown Forest is great - get a map from the visitors center. Weir Wood Reservoir is good for bird watching there's a hide there too.
There's also Loder Valley Reserve (near / part of Wakehurst Place) - it's a botanical reserve and SSSI - haven't been for years but really interesting.
Ardingly reservoir is nearish you too but a this time of year Ardingly (bit further down from you ) is very interesting.
there that's all the ones South of you anyway - lots to the north too!

| | | Re: Edenbridge Thanks for the suggestions. That's the problem, no I don't drive (I'm a bit of a eco-friendly person and either walk everywhere or can cycle. :-)
Bough Beech has been mentioned on another thread so that is definitely somewhere to go. We took our dog to Ashdown Forest a year or so ago. We went twice to the same place so would like to go back and explore it more.
I'm never quite sure where I can and cannot walk. The OS map says you can but some of it looks like you can't when you're there. I would be walking from Skinners Farm, I'll have a look again at the old OS map we currently have.
